I was so inspired by this month's challenge over at Creative Embellishments, I decided to do a steampunk themed tree. I am participating in a few 12 days of Christmas parties on Facebook so I thought it would be fun to show a different set of ornaments each day using lots of fun Creative Embellishments goodies with showing the completed tree on the last day.
For my first set of ornaments, I made small tussie mussies. The challenge part of this month was to use a stencil or a mask. On the brown base of each of the tussie mussies, I sponged watered down copper metallic Viva Décor Inka Gold through the Tim Holtz dot fade stencil. I layered with G45 paper. On the fronts I layered a large gear painted in the copper with gauze and a Petaloo heart shaped resin flower center. I painted the centers with watered down copper and patina and finished off with 7 Dots Studio word stickers. On the tops, I fussy cut images, added flowers, bling, trim, ribbon, gauze, mini gears, large gears, and propellers. I inked all the chipboard pieces in the copper then embossed some of them with the Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Powder.
Stay tuned tomorrow for my next set.
